Why Invest in Early Childhood Professional Development?

Running a childcare centre, kindergarten or early learning service is about more than ratios and compliance. High-quality professional development equips your team with the tools to:
- Strengthen resilience and prevent educator burnout.
- Improve communication and teamwork across staff.
- Support children’s emotional and social development.
- Meet National Quality Standards (NQS) and regulatory requirements.
- Build a positive workplace culture that attracts and retains staff.
With workforce shortages, high turnover, and the increasing complexity of children’s needs, investing in your staff’s growth is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen your centre.

The most requested workshops for ELC educators and staff include Communication Skills, Emotional Resilience & Coping Mechanisms, Self-care and Self-Awareness. These topics address the biggest challenges facing today’s educators, in particular managing the emotions, setting boundaries and prioritising mental health for many who work in caregiving roles.
We offer both online workshops (via Zoom or Teams) and in-person sessions across Melbourne. Our Facilitators come to your centre, making it convenient and easy to schedule with other PD initiatives. Virtual delivery allows centres Australia-wide to access our facilitators by logging into through their own device at home or at work.
For every session, our Project Managers will reach out directly to you to find out about your team, challenges they’re facing, objectives you want to achieve and anything else that helps our facilitators suitably tailor your seminar or workshop. All activities are adapted for your workplace, ensuring the tips and tools are practical and can be applied to your centre’s unique settings. It’s important you share with your team that the more they interact, engage and share, the more we can customise the workshop for them.
Yes. Our sessions are evidence-based and align with the National Quality Standards and Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. They can contribute to your educators’ annual professional development requirements.
Costs vary depending on the duration and format of your session. 1 hour Online Virtual Seminars start at $1199+gst for a group of 15 team members, and incrementally increase with more participants or a longer session. Face-to-face sessions start from $1399+gst for a group of 15 x team members. None-the-less all pricing is standardised and we will always be upfront with you by providing a quote. All sessions are fully tax deductable and considered a reliable and proactive initiative in managing psychosocial hazards in your workplace.
As much as hybrid workshops sound like a good idea, we’ve run hundreds of workshops over the past 7 years and can tell you they’re not. Hybrid workshops don’t allow your team members or the facilitator to move around, interact and use a range of activity methods like white-boards and break out discussions when face-to-face. Unless you have a full camera crew and microphone on each participant, face-to-face workshops are very difficult to engage in for participants dialling in online or from home. If you’re going to take the time to prioritise employees and run a workshop, why not do it right by either having a face-to-face or online session everyone can enjoy. If another provider has told you hybrid workshops are a good idea, we’d really question the emotionally engaging component of their facilitation style.
Of course! If you don’t have a suitable workplace to run a face-to-face workshop (e.g. a factory, farm or work-site) we can book a suitable venue at one of our venue partner sites around Melbourne. Venues come with everything you need including a projector or TV screen, comfortable seating, toilets and a range of amenities.
